It's official! I'm....

Hahaha! Let me guess... Your first thought was that I'm pregnant, right?

WRONG!

I'm quitting. Yep, I'm a quitter. I am no longer going to blog. Pics and videos take WAY too long to upload and I just don't have the time or desire to do it anymore so...

How do we stay in touch you ask? How do you know what our little family is up to? How can you stalk me? Well, if your question was the third; please don't. For the first two questions, there's facebook and email. If we're friends on FB, great! If not and you want to see pics and updates, add me! If you want pics and videos emailed, send me an email or leave a comment with your email address and if I like you, I'll email you! :)

Sorry to disappoint anyone who got excited thinking I may have been pregnant for a second. I just had to have a little fun.

Once Upon a Time...

Wonder why I haven't been blogging? Wonder no more. Life has been busy to say the least. I met the man of my dreams, we fell in love and... got married! Now, I know this is probably old news to everyone reading this but I had to start somewhere and what better place to start than this?

Our story (in a nutshell): I met Patrick through school. His sister-in-law started the same day as I did and we became instant friends. She wanted me to meet her brother-in-law but I kept stalling and finally met him about 8 months later after rolling my eyes at her when she brought it up for the millionth time. Patrick is 30, a firefighter, going to school to become a paramedic. He has twin girls that are 3 years old who live in Salt Lake with their mom.
I dated a few guys right after the divorce and came to the conclusion that all men are scum and was content with my little family of three. Once we met, my views quickly changed. Everything just fit into place like we'd always been together. He is so good to me and treats the kids like his own. I guess the biggest blessings come when we aren't looking for them!

After being engaged for a few weeks we had the crazy idea of eloping... er, um, kind of eloping. Let me explain... One night we decided that a big wedding wasn't what we wanted. Then this thought came to us: If we don't have a big wedding to plan, why wait??? The day we got married (November 19th) we called family and the bishop, who married us. (We just have to wait until my previous sealing is cancelled then we'll be able to be sealed), got our marriage license and a dress and ta-da! Our wedding was planned in less than 24 hours and it was absolutely perfect. We had 10 family members there and got married in our local church building.

(Yes, he's wearing a kilt. I married a scottish man, what can I say?)
The boys and I couldn't be happier.

First Day Of School

Braden absolutely LOVES school. He's been in school for over a month now but I'm finally getting around to posting pictures. It seems like such a chore to blog these days...
Here are some pics of Braden and all the other kids waiting for the bus!

He had his serious face on... This is Braden trying to fake a smile. First day jitters, I guess. He was really more excited than anything. He got on the bus with such confidence, ready to conquer the world that day. He didn't even look back or say bye. I'm so proud of how brave and confident he is!

Here it comes!!! (The kids still get excited every time the bus drives up. Cracks me up!)

Braden is learning to read. Gone are the days of trying to have "secret conversations" with other adults and spelling words I don't want him to hear... He can spell. The other day he brought my water bottle in the house for me and said, "Hey, this goes all the way up to one thousand!" He saw the ml markings on the side. Wow, I didn't even know he knew anything past 100. I love seeing how much he learns each day!

CATS!

Me and one of my best friends went to see CATS and it was AMAZING!!! I love, love, love the outdoor theatre. So awesome! This pic was taken before the show started, while it was still light outside. Now, we're planning another fun girls night to see Tarzan! Yep... It was THAT fun!
P.S. Check out the 3 other posts from today. I was on a blogging roll!

County Fair

A few weeks ago was the county fair. We had a blast! Auntie Aubri came for a surprise visit and went with us to the fair. It was sooo awesome to see her! We were supposed to Skype (have a video call on the computer) but instead, my doorbell rang and it was her! Surprise visits from family members are among the best surprises ever! The fair was a blast but the only pics I got were at the 4-H animal exhibit.

Auntie Aubri and the Trav man with a bunny. Travis was so gentle. He loves animals!
I thought I was the only one who Braden had eating out of his hands but apparently sheep love him too!

Braden's first time on a horse!
Travis' first time on a horse! They both LOVED it!

Better Late Than Never!

So over a month ago, the boys had a birthday party... Life's been busy and blogging is somewhere on the bottom of my to-do list. Here are some pictures from the party. We had 12 kids over and it was a whole lotta crazy fun! The boys decided on a pirate-themed party.
We played pin the "X" on the treasure chest, went on a treasure hunt and found goody bags after we found all the clues and we played musical islands (musical chairs, pirate-style) We even had Blackbeard, the pirate puppet, read our treasure hunt clues to us.

Here's the cake! My friend and I made it.
Ahoy, matey!
Pin the X...
Too cute!
"Happy birthday to you!!!"
Dig in!
They weren't patient enough to wait for forks and the fact that we thought they were too cute doing this just egged them on. What are birthdays for anyway?! Have fun boys! Its YOUR day!!!

A pirate treasure chest from Braden's dad purchased off of Amazon all the way from Afghanistan. Isn't the internet great?!
The coolest Buzz Lightyear EVER from my dad...

Travis Turns Two

Yesterday was Travis' birthday. We decided to celebrate with a small family party since Braden and him are having a joint party with friends next Saturday. (Their birthdays are a week apart if you didn't already know...) Both of the boys love pirates sooo.... I made Travis some skull and cross bone cupcakes which he absolutely loved. He calls pirates "Yo ho's" and gets super excited whenever he sees anything pirate related. For Travis, the love of pirates began a few months ago when he went on the Pirates of The Caribbean ride at Disneyland for the first time. Braden's love of pirates was instilled in him by his father soon after birth. I think Braden may have entered this world saying, "arrrgh matey!" (or something to that affect). They each got to open a present since the big party is next week and Braden is being so kind as to share his special day with the T man. After the sugar overload, we went to see How to Train Your Dragon. Super cute movie.
I love my little muchkin!
