Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! This blog is dedicated to my two awesome boys, Braden and Travis. We are starting a new life and are looking forward to what life has in store for us. Life hasn't turned out how I dreamed it would but I have a positive attitude for what is to come. I know that Heavenly Father hasn't forsaken me and that he will be with me (and my boys) every step of the way. I have received a lot of comments about how well I'm dealing with everything and people are amazed that I'm not living in my pajamas, depressed, downing a quart of ice cream each day. The thing that is getting me through this is my faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the atonement and my determination that this will only make me a better person. I will not let this break me; I can overcome it and come out the other end a stronger person for it. I believe in the following quote by Charles Swindoll:

Attitude
By Charles Swindoll

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.
It will make or break a company…a church…a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.

The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude…
I am convinced that life is
10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it."

With that said, I have decided to embrace my life and have a positive attitude. I've decided to find serenity by accepting the things I cannot change. It is what it is and I've decided that that is just going to have to be okay. I've realized that divorce is a terrible thing and I wish I didn't have to go through it, but it can't be the end of the world. Surely if more than half of the U.S. population has survived it, I can too.

Thanks for all the support and prayers offered on our behalf. I appreciate the wonderful support system I have through friends and family.

Now that I have the blog up and running, check back often to see pictures and stay updated on my oh-so-cute little family!

Since you're here, I might as well give you that update you're all dying to get on the boys' latest happenings. Braden has recently learned how to spell his name and has started doing small chores around the house to earn stickers which he can redeem for prizes. He learned how to use the vacuum today and thinks he's hot stuff because he can vacuum now. Travis has been busy this past week. He started walking while holding onto furniture, cut through his first tooth (and almost his second), said his first (and second) word. His first was "ba-ba" and his second word was...."MAMA!!" Motherhood is the most awesome job in the world. I'm so proud of my boys and love being able to teach them and watch them grow.

If you're new to my blog, feel free to take a second to leave a comment. I love to know who's actually reading it. So, take a second to say hi, agree or disagree with me, leave an opinion, give me a quick update on your life, post your favorite quote or tell me some random trivia!

*Don't forget to add my new blog address to your blog list!!!

  8. You are beautiful!! Your positive attitude will make all the difference in how things go for you from here. Having been a single mom myself and finding a wonderful guy who loves me, and most importantly lovew my baby, I can say with all the confidence in me that things will work out beautifully for you. The thing that always helped me was that I knew that God had a plan for me and was watching over me.

Good luck with everything! It will be hard at times, but you will do amazing!
