Just to Clarify...
I thought I'd take a minute to clarify a little bit about Travis and his nebulizer. I wrote the last post quickly. When I wrote that he had an asthmatic cough, I meant to write that he had an asthmatic-SOUNDING cough. I fixed it after re-reading it. Sorry for the confusion. The little guy does NOT have asthma and he's not been wheezing. Its just a dry cough kind of like a bark (no, its not croup either.) Both the boys have been on the nebulizer before for upper respiratory infections (twice in the past year). The albuterol helps with the inflammation in the airways so breathing is more comfortable and the cough eases. He's getting plenty of oxygen, its nothing serious, nor is it a chronic thing; just a treatment for a cough that won't go away. The doctor just wanted to use the nebulizer as a diagnosis to see if it would help get rid of it. He said the cause is likely a virus or viruses that lead his body to develop a cough as he fights it off. He also said it might be associated with seasonal allergies. So far, its working. I haven't heard him cough for a few days. Yay!
