My Little Trav-meister

These are just some pics I've taken recently. This little guy just turned 11 months two days ago. Time sure has flown by.

He loves his brother's bike and was standing by it thinkin' he was the coolest thing ever. Kinda like those guys in the movies that stand by someone else's nice car and pretend its theirs to get the chicks... Only in his case I think he was trying to impress the "big kids."
If you look really closely... and I mean really closely, you can see the ocean between the trees! I'll miss it!
A few days came and went where Travis fought off sleep like the plague. He resisted until he could resist no more. This was the end result:

Monterey Bay Aquarium

We got to spend the day with Gramps and Great Grandma and went to the aquarium and stopped at Bubba Gumps for some good grub. I am proud to announce that I knew all of the Forest Gump trivia and have only seen the movie once many, many years ago! We got to see the new seahorse exhibit which was pretty cool. There are two pictures of different seahorses below. A couple of species look like plants! Check it out!

Everyone's doing it...

A couple of days ago, Braden went into the bathroom to wash his hands. He got quiet so I knew something was up. I asked what he was doing and he said, "I cut my hair." I was shocked and asked why as I went running in there. He responded, "Because it was too long." Good reason, I guess. The haircutting shears were on the far end of the counter under my makeup bag and I had no idea he could even reach that far or that he knew they were there. Oops! It wasn't much (2 little chunks missing) but I buzzed it so he wouldn't look funny. The ironic part was that I was going to buzz it the day before because I was thinking the same thing: it was getting too long! I just didn't get around to it... Here's a picture before I buzzed it. You can kind of see where he cut it.

Here's his freshly buzzed head. You can still kind of see where it was cut. I didn't want to buzz it any shorter. Another week, I'll buzz it again and he'll be good as new! Yes, that is Travis fully clothed in the tub... I went to the living room to grab something and came back about 30 seconds later to find this:
Braden told me right away that Travis climbed in the bathtub and again, I freaked and ran in there. I don't know how he did it but his head was completely dry and he was just sitting there. Braden immediately said, "Travis did it all by himself." Of course, I was skeptical because it sounded a little fishy to me. Later when I was drying the boys off, I heard Braden tell Travis, "I'm sorry, Travis. I won't put you in the bath again." Aha! I knew it! What a day, huh?

For My Boys

I'm just a cheesy poet, who loves her kids and hope they know it!
(Actually, I'm not a poet at all. These just came to me out of the blue one night.)

"I Love You, Braden"
I love how you are always growing,
Every day it keeps on showing.
I love your colorful preschool art,
And your stickers on your chart.
I love your passion for your cars,
My dreams for you reach beyond the stars.
I love your cuddles, your kisses, your hugs,
And your latest interest in all those silly bugs.
I love your funny stories,
And how you are learning to do "chor-ies."
I am blessed to be your mother,
You are such a great big brother.
I love your super silly ways,
I pray each day they never stray.
I love absolutely every thing,
What joy to me you will forever bring.
Two peas in a pod, you and me,
I'm blessed to have you for all eternity.

"I Love You, Travis"
I love our journey, its just begun,
You and I will have so much fun.
I love your precious goos and coos,
And when you play with my tennis shoes.
I love each day, something new you try,
It breaks my heart to see you cry.
I love how your face lights up when you smile,
And when you nap a long, long while.
I love the way you splish and splash,
The moment I put you in your bath.
I love your deep, dark brown eyes,
You seem grown beyond your years; so wise.
I love your sweet baby kisses,
And the way you "help" me do the dishes.
I love your speedy crawl,
And the way you and brother like to brawl.
I love you, my little ten-month-old
How privileged I am to see your life unfold.
I love our time together
I love it now, more than ever.

Musically Inclined Children of Mine

 Check 'em out!
I'll have to get a video of Braden playing the harmonica one of these days...
For now, the Pop Rocks will suffice.

Life's a Beach...

I think I'm turning into a beach bum. Either that or I'm just trying to get my "ocean fix" before I move to Utah. Either way, here are some pics. of the boys and I. Yes, it was a very bright day so we ended up with a lot of squinty-eyed pictures but, we had fun so who cares?! Travis was tired, hence the look on his face in the picture above.

Bye Bye Birdie

A few days ago I noticed a bird nest in my hanging plant in our patio area. I got this picture of them before they decided to fly the coop. Now they're gone but Braden sure enjoyed checking them out a few times while they were there.
