Yesterday after class, I took the boys to a little pond just a couple of miles away from our house and we had fun checking out people who were fishing, the ducks and exploring a huge open field. I love enjoying the simple things in life with my kids!
Travis surprised me with a few new words that I had no clue he even knew, like: duck and rocks. His vocabulary is expanding by a few new words each day and I love it. Some of his favorites are: YES! Ta-da, no, Nana, Mom, bugs, ewe, juice, what, car, go, bot (for autobot- he calls every transformer this and definitely knows the difference between a transformer and car,) box, ball, walk. Travis has also finally hit the 20lb. mark! We are going to see the doctor again in a couple of weeks to check and see if his weight gain is steady and if he's finally gaining as much as he should be.
Braden is doing good. He loves riding his bike that Santa brought him, playing with his friends, going to the daycare at the gym while I work out, reading and doing crafts. He is really excited to start school in September.
I'm still having a blast at school and I look forward to being there each day with my friends learning new things and getting to "play" as we learn. Some of the things I've learned how to do is cut and color hair, do manicures, pedicures, scalp treatments and massages, perms, acrylic nails and facials. We practiced the cutting, perming and coloring on mannequin heads but we got to do manicures, pedicures, scalp treatments, massages and facials on each other. So much fun being pampered for half the day for an entire week with those things. Spa week was definitely my favorite! Going to school 8 hours a day has definitely made it difficult to find time to keep up with the house, go to the gym and spend quality time with the boys so I've decided to switch to night school which is from 5-10pm Mon.-Thurs. My mom is going to continue to watch them for me in the evenings, feed them dinner, bathe them and put them to bed for me. I am switching mid April and am looking forward to being able to have the days with my boys and 3 day weekends to spend with them every week. Being gone 40 hours a week has been hard on us all. If it was something that I HAD to do... I'd do it, but I have time to finish school at a slower pace and have decided that it would be better for our family if I did. Its kind of bitter-sweet to me because I'm excited to spend more time with the kids but at the same time, I'm really sad to be leaving my friends who are going full time. The friendships that I've made in this short time are amazing. So to try to balance it all, I've signed up for a couple of teams to be on with my friends at school so we can still hang out and be involved in school activities together. I applied for Student Council and the Be Nice Team which is a service team that goes into the community and gives a ton of different kind of services. We'll see what happens with that...
He's pointing and saying, "duck!"
Braden was excited to see the ducks and people fishing
